Hi, my name is Shelby Buker and I am the new ELL teacher at Cougar Ridge Elementary! I attended Western Washington University where I graduated with a BA in both Spanish and Language, Literacy and Cultural Studies with Endorsements in ELL, Reading and Elementary Education. This is my sixth year teaching. I began my career in Northshore School District where I taught Dual Language Kindergarten and then came to ISD in 2015. I taught 3rd Grade at Maple Hills Elementary for two years, and then I taught abroad in Managua, Nicaragua with my husband. Due to a political crisis in the country, we returned early to Washington. My husband works at Issaquah High School and this will be my second year as the ELL teacher at Cougar Ridge Elementary! I am so excited for another year as a Bobcat!
Some of my hobbies are:
traveling with my husband, Will and our puppy, Edgar (see pic above)
